Metis¶
Internal-knowledge search and Q&A platform for small/mid businesses. Your team accumulates documents over years — equipment manuals, prior projects, SOPs, vendor contracts, change orders, safety procedures, codes — and Metis lets them ask questions of that accumulated documentation in plain English, with the source document quoted in every answer.
Live at https://metis-demo.base2ml.com/?view=pilotforge.
What Metis does¶
Ask a question. Get an answer with the source quoted.
Q: What's the start-up procedure for the chiller at Hill Crest?
A: [Source: HillCrest_O&M_Manual_2023.pdf, p.47]
"Open shutoff valves V-1 through V-4, verify reservoir level
60-75%, set controller to AUTO, allow 4-minute warm-up cycle
before enabling chilled-water pump..."
Three properties:
- Every answer cites a verbatim quote from one of your documents. If the answer isn't in your documents, Metis says so — it doesn't make one up.
- Your documents stay yours. Stored in your firm's isolated AWS S3 bucket. Encrypted. The underlying AI models don't train on your data.
- Your team learns from itself. Estimators, PMs, field techs, ops leads all query the same accumulated knowledge — your institutional memory becomes searchable.
Who Metis fits¶
Companies that:
- Have 50–2,000 employees and lots of accumulated documentation
- Run operations-heavy work (contracting, manufacturing, services, distribution, professional services)
- Lose meaningful time to "where's that document?" / "how did we do this last time?" / "what did we promise on the {project} job?"
- Have field or distributed teams who need answers fast and can't always reach senior staff
Industries that fit naturally: mechanical / electrical / HVAC contracting, specialty trades, manufacturing operations, fleet maintenance, building operations, technical services, professional-services firms.
Get started¶
- SMB one-pager — for prospects
- Pilot agreement — 60–90 day free pilot; the template is provided directly when a pilot is scoped
- End-user guide — for users once a pilot is live
- Data sources — what we connect to (drag-drop, CSV, OAuth connectors on request, watched-folder sync script)
Why "Metis" + "AuditForge" share an engine¶
Metis is the original document-Q&A platform. AuditForge is a specialized application of the same underlying reasoning engine: AuditForge wraps the Q&A platform in an audit-finding generator (consolidation, adversarial verification, white-label deliverable export, chain-of-custody freeze) for audit firms. The Metis use case is simpler: search and ask questions, not produce audit findings.
Customers using Metis get the document Q&A capabilities without the audit-specific overhead. Customers using AuditForge get the full audit workflow on top of the same engine.
Pricing¶
- Pilot: free for 60–90 days, validating the product on a real SMB corpus
- Basic: $400/month — single corpus, up to 10 users
- Standard: $800/month — single corpus, unlimited users, monthly corpus refreshes
- Annual: $7,200/year ($600/month effective) — Standard features paid up-front
Month-to-month cancellation after pilot. No multi-year lock-in.
See the SMB one-pager for the full pricing breakdown.
Honest disclosure¶
- No paying SMB customer yet. Metis has been used internally and as part of AuditForge — the SMB use case is what we're validating with the first 1–2 customers
- No SOC 2 / pen test / E&O insurance. Substantive controls in place; auditor-signed reports are on the post-revenue roadmap
- One-person operation today. Founder responds to engagement-level questions within business hours
- Founded 2026, Pittsburgh PA. Bootstrap, no outside capital
If first-customer status is a disqualifier for you, the right answer is "let's revisit in 6 months." If you'd rather be early with favorable terms and direct founder attention, we should talk.
What we connect to¶
See data sources. Short version:
- Drag-and-drop + CSV bulk import — available out of the box
- Google Drive / SharePoint / OneDrive / Box / Dropbox — connectors built on request, scoped to your environment
- CMMS systems (ServiceTitan, Maintenance Connection, eMaint, Limble, etc.) — scoped per customer
- Watched-folder sync script — quick-start option, runs on one machine, works with any folder
